Entrance: STUDIO DAS WEISSE HAUS, Schwarzenbergstraße 5-7,1010 Vienna

Whereas visitors of exhibitions are mainly confronted with finished artworks, studio das weisse haus is a place of creative practice and dialogue. Here, Vienna-based artists meet international cultural producers and constitute a vibrant community.

Julia Gaisbacher (Austria, Vienna) is a visual artist who deals with themes of urbanism and housing. At the center of her work are extensive research and long-term observations that focus on architecture and the urban landscape as a human habitat. The starting point is always photography. The final works manifest themselves in the form of prints, installations, artist’s books and films.

Yoshinori Niwa (Japan/Austria, Vienna) is an artist. His practice takes the form of social interventions realised through performance, video and installation. His works all bear self-explanatory, slogan-like titles, and are executed primarily on the street and in public spaces.

Yuji Oshima (Japan/Austria, Vienna) is an artist working on new media projects and sound installations. His work has been presented at various venues, including Palais de Tokyo, Paris, France; Flux Factory, New York, USA  and Intercommunication Center, Tokyo, Japan.

Lavinia Lanner (Austria, Vienna) is an artist whose practice centres around drawing, more precisely, 3B pencil on paper. The simplicity of the means is her first interest,  being the most direct and immediate way of giving shape to thoughts, and, at the same time, allowing her to create and construct complex gestures with it.

Hyeji Nam (South Korea/Vienna) s an interdisciplinary artist and musician whose work melds the digital with the physical, exploring themes of body, mind, and technology. Her sound installations and performances have been spotlighted at prestigious events and venues including Gwangju Biennale 2024 (Austrian Pavilion) in South Korea, Vienna Art Week, Parallel, ImpulsTanz, Hyperreality, Unsafe and Sound festival, and Mumok in Austria. In  2023, she released her first album “miracles” under the Viennese independent record label Tender Matter. Her most recent multimedia project has been “Choir of Kin” as part of the collective Transformative Narratives shown at ImageTanz Festival 2024 at Brut, Vienna, Austria. Her newest solo performance is to be shown at ImageTanz Festival 2025 at Brut.
